VIDEO: Another Person Hospitalized After Gunshots in Yerevan Has Died; Suspect Arrested

The Investigative Committee of Armenia is conducting investigative and procedural actions within the framework of a criminal case initiated under Article 155, Part 2, Clause 7, Article 44-155, Part 2, Clause 7, and Article 335, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code to clarify the circumstances surrounding a murder and an attempted murder.

According to preliminary data, on September 24, 2022, around 20:30, during a dispute on Vantyan Street in Yerevan, shots were fired from a firearm towards a group of other individuals, resulting in one person being killed, while another man was hospitalized with gunshot injuries.

During the investigation, the scene was examined, and the body of the deceased man was found. Several individuals have been interrogated, and a series of forensic medical, genetic, and ballistic examinations have been ordered. As a result of the undertaken measures, the identity of the individual suspected of committing the crime has been established; he is a resident of Yerevan, born in 1995. He has been arrested based on reasonable suspicion that has arisen directly.

On September 25, 2022, at around 04:00, a call was received from the “Astghik” medical center informing that the man brought in with gunshot wounds had died. The investigation is ongoing.

Notification: The suspect or defendant in the alleged crime is considered innocent until proven guilty by a legally effective judgment of the court in accordance with the procedures established by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia.
