Irrigation Water Supply and Drinking Water Pipeline in Kechut Community of Jermuk Under Enemy Control

In the Vayots Dzor region, the irrigation water supply and one of the drinking water pipelines in the Kechut community of Jermuk have come under enemy control. This information was shared by the administrative head of Kechut, Artak Bagratyan, during a conversation with reporters.

For a week now, there has been no irrigation water in the community, and drinking water is not available in all neighborhoods. Bagratyan stated, “Those areas have been captured; what water? There is no water, we have no irrigation water. There is only partial access to drinking water. We have a separate line that has been damaged, and we are currently using the second line. We have potato and other vegetable plots in the village; the potato fields alone cover about 10 hectares. If we do not get water in the coming days, we will lose those as well.”

According to him, the gas pipeline and electrical wires have also been damaged, and work is underway to restore them. Following Azerbaijan's attack, there were no casualties among the peaceful population in the village; however, 7 residential houses were damaged, and 100 hectares of fields were burned.

Bagratyan noted that currently, about 30% of the village's population has returned, including women and children, but the school and kindergarten are still non-operational. He mentioned that after the attack, residents left and sought refuge with their relatives.

“In addition, many livestock died and were injured due to the explosions in the village. The grass remains on the mountain, and people cannot bring it down. The barns have been damaged,” he added.

It is noteworthy that one shell landed on the cemetery in Kechut, while three shells hit the reservoir.

Recall that since September 13, Azerbaijani military units have been intensively firing artillery and large-caliber firearms towards Goris, Sotk, and Jermuk. The enemy also used UAVs. As of 20:00 on September 14, a ceasefire regime was established along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, which has been maintained until now.
