Ruben Rubinyan Questions Opposition's Understanding of Their Rhetoric's Impact on Soldiers
Citizens should judge whether our criticism of the CSTO benefits Armenia or not. They should evaluate whether the rhetoric, actions, behavior, ideologies, and philosophies of the recent opposition serve Armenia’s interests. This was stated by the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Ruben Rubinyan, during a public broadcast.
“When your country is in a dangerous situation, you must do everything to stabilize the situation and provide your state with more leverages and maneuvering space. Our opposition is doing the opposite. For years, our opposition has tried to instill an attitude that the authorities are traitors, ready to concede territory,” Rubinyan noted.
He added that former Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian hinted that the Prime Minister has a secret verbal promise that he is not fulfilling, stating that this hint entirely coincided with Azerbaijan's insinuations. “I want to understand, do our opposition members realize what kind of mood they are sowing with their rhetoric? For instance, when they say that the authorities are secretly preparing to concede this or that territory, or that everything is already given away. Do they understand that they are sending a message to the soldier standing on the front lines that their fighting is meaningless? If they understand that, then they are engaged in hostile activities,” Rubinyan emphasized.
