There Are 1-2 Intruding Azerbaijani Groups in Armenia, Search Operations Underway – Alen Simonyan
There are currently 1-2 Azerbaijani groups that have infiltrated Armenia, and search operations are underway to locate them. This was stated by the President of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, in an interview with Public Television today, as he presented the situation following the Azerbaijani aggression.
“They will be pushed out, or this issue will be resolved militarily, and I assume it will happen very quickly,” Simonyan said.
He also noted that the adversary had penetrated Armenian territory at several points, but in some positions, they had been successfully expelled. The President of the National Assembly reminded that the official count of Armenian casualties currently stands at 135, while not ruling out that the number may increase after identifying the deceased and missing persons.
Regarding the adversary's casualties, Simonyan expressed the opinion that if 77 have been officially declared, the actual number is likely 3-4 times higher.
Concerning the situation created after the Azerbaijani attack, Alen Simonyan stated that declaring martial law in Armenia could be viewed as an act of aggression. “Because our neighboring country constantly and prior to the attack provides justifications claiming that we are preparing to attack, that we have provoked some tension, and so on,” Simonyan stated.
On the issue of mobilization, he referred to the painful experience of 2020, where, in his assessment, conscript soldiers fought much better and showed greater performance, whereas the mobilization resources were in a much weaker state.
