Karin Tonoyan: "Over 38 Billion Dram Planned for Bonuses in 2022"

The mother of fallen soldier Menua Hovhannisyan, Karin Tonoyan, shared a photo, stating:

“Yesterday, during an interview on Public Television with Petros Ghazaryan, I mentioned that the country’s crisis management requires resource mobilization. I brought up bonuses as an example, suggesting that they should be eliminated and that these funds redirected to enhance our defense capabilities. In response, the host commented that the funds were relatively small. I replied that I would provide a list.

Below, I present the planned bonus amounts according to the law on the state budget of the Republic of Armenia for 2022, categorized by state bodies (Bonuses, including monetary incentives and special payments, do not include salaries and allowances).

Dear citizens, as you can see, the state system of Armenia, led by Nikol Pashinyan, has planned to spend over 38 billion dram on bonuses in 2022, which amounts to over 90 million US dollars (calculated at a current exchange rate of 425 dram per US dollar).

State expenditures reach hundreds of billions, which are unacceptable for a country at war. This includes expenses allocated for service vehicles, their maintenance, travel, office equipment, and the overall servicing of an inflated state system. Without exaggeration, these amounts total hundreds of billions, and a state at war is obligated to reconsider and redirect them towards enhancing the country’s defense capabilities.

Our envisioned transitional government will halt all non-essential expenditures, including the aforementioned ones, and redirect them to strengthening our security and bolstering our army.
