Intense fighting is ongoing near the city of Jermuk. Ashot Khachatryan, the deputy community leader of Jermuk, stated this in an interview with Public Television.
Khachatryan reported that the situation within the city is under operational control. "We have patrols from both the police and local residents," he said.
The deputy community leader indicated that there has been no damage to the infrastructure in Jermuk. "In the village of Kechut, an old house, which is uninhabited, was damaged. One house in Jermuk suffered damage to its roof, and there was slight damage to the Jermuk cemetery, where gunfire was reported. Evacuations have taken place for women and children, who have been relocated to Vayk and Yeghgnadzor. Residents who are performing duties within the city area remain on site," he added.
It should be noted that Public Television aired this interview at 21:30, but it is unclear at what time the recording was made. The Ministry of Defense has reported that as of 20:00, the gunfire had nearly stopped in all directions.
