Exchange of Prisoners Takes Place: Emergency Service Employee for Azerbaijani National

As a result of negotiations, a prisoner exchange occurred shortly ago in the Nerkhin Hand area of Syunik Province, reports Aravot.am, citing its sources.

According to our source, one of the two prisoners transferred from the Azerbaijani side to the Armenian side was an Emergency Situations Ministry employee who had gone to the Nerkhin Hand area today, September 15, to retrieve the bodies of casualties. The negotiations were primarily conducted by Syunik Governor Robert Ghukasyan and Kapan Mayor Manvel Pahramazyan, along with the RA Armed Forces General Staff and the Russian side. In return, the Azerbaijani side received an Azerbaijani national who was captured in Nerkhin Hand today.

It is worth noting that the spokesperson for the Emergency Situations Ministry had indicated that rescuers had gone as a group to the Nerkhin Hand village area to return bodies; part of the group has returned, while contact has yet to be established with one of the rescuers.
