Civil Infrastructure Also Targeted: RA Human Rights Defender

The office of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia has issued a statement indicating that, according to reports from the hotline of the Defender, local sources, and other information, the Azerbaijani armed forces have subjected the communities of Kapan, Goris, Jermuk, Vardenis, and surrounding areas to intensive shelling for the past two hours using various types of weapons, including heavy artillery.

"According to the information we have received, civil infrastructure is also being targeted. This is a gross violation of the ceasefire declaration, which had been prepared by the neighboring state using manipulative information from previous days. These illegal actions must be stopped immediately. The Human Rights Defender will send this information to relevant international partners and networks," the statement read.
