Video: Remote-controlled explosive placed under a car; 36-year-old man dies
On June 23, at 11:30 AM, a citizen who called the Ministry of Emergency Situations' "911" service reported that a "Niva" vehicle was on fire on Getaphi Street in Parakarr village. The report was forwarded to the police. The operational group of the Vagharshapat police department was en route to the scene when a report was received from the "Astghik" medical center: the emergency services of Ejmiadzin had brought in a 36-year-old man, Varazdat Baroyan, a resident of Parakarr, who had sustained injuries from the explosion of the vehicle and later died.
A criminal case was initiated by the Vagharshapat investigative department regarding the incident. A number of law enforcement agencies collaborated to uncover the serious crime and clarify the circumstances of the event. Thanks to complementary and professional efforts, they achieved success.
In particular, through joint operational-investigative measures taken by the officers of the Criminal Police's main and Armavir regional departments, Vagharshapat division, National Security Service's Armavir regional department, and the investigative committee's main department for particularly important cases, it was revealed that a remote-controlled explosive device had been placed under Varazdat Baroyan's vehicle. It was also determined not only the identity of the individual who committed the murder but also those who assisted in the commission of the crime. Preventive measures have been chosen to detain them. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
