Video: Man Drives Car onto Supermarket Steps, Stabs Citizen for Making a Remark
The Investigation Committee of the Republic of Armenia has revealed multiple circumstances surrounding an incident in which a 40-year-old man was seriously harmed near a supermarket in Abovyan city. This includes identifying the individual suspected of committing the crime, who is a resident of the same city born in 1989.
According to the data obtained during the investigation, on August 26, 2022, at approximately 00:15, a 33-year-old resident of Abovyan drove his 'MITSUBISHI PAJERO' vehicle onto the steps of the mentioned supermarket, disrupting its normal operations. During this time, the 40-year-old man made a minor remark, prompting the 33-year-old to engage in an unfounded argument driven by hooligan motives and attack him with a sharp cutting tool, causing life-threatening injuries to various parts of his body.
Based on the sufficient combination of evidence obtained, the 33-year-old resident of Abovyan has been charged under the first part of Article 297 and the tenth point of the second part of Article 166 of the RA Criminal Code. A petition has been submitted to the court for the application of detention as a preventive measure, which has been granted. The pre-trial investigation continues.
