«The Most Correct and Dignified Among Opposition MPs Was Vanetsyan». Alen Simonyan
In a conversation with reporters at the National Assembly, Speaker Alen Simonyan noted that he considers the call for an alternative session by the two opposition factions to be unserious. According to him, the opposition's move does not harm the work of the National Assembly.
“It won’t harm, because the National Assembly is the most legitimate National Assembly and the opposition is, one could say, the least legitimate opposition in our history. I don’t know, let them establish an alternative state as well,” said Simonyan.
According to the Speaker, opposition deputies are known for their offensive language, and the public evaluates that behavior. “We have been constructive, including in that we did not deprive them of mandates, even though we could have referred the issue to the Constitutional Court,” he noted.
Alen Simonyan declared that the most correct and dignified among the opposition deputies was Arthur Vanetsyan, who took political responsibility upon himself.
