Security Issues Are Solved in Two Ways: Alan Simonyan
During a briefing with journalists at the National Assembly, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, stated that significant changes are being implemented within the Armenian armed forces, starting from legislative initiatives to personnel changes.
Referring to the statement of Armenia's Special Envoy Edmon Marukyan regarding the border situation, in which he noted that Azerbaijan is trying to create legitimate grounds for preparing provocations at the border, Simonyan indicated that Azerbaijan has consistently employed its tactics and has always used them during negotiations. However, contrary to all predictions that the current authorities would be unable to negotiate, the negotiation process is ongoing.
According to Simonyan, Armenia will pursue the peace process. He stated, 'The citizen of Armenia and we believe that we need to prioritize security issues, which can be resolved in two ways: by establishing peace with neighboring countries and by having a strong army. We will advance towards the development of the army through legislative initiatives and significant personnel changes. Moreover, before the war, it was often said that the army had been decapitated, but that has not been the case. It is now becoming clear that there are significant changes in the army. I can say that Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan is performing quite successfully in his role.'
