Consultations to Establish a Safety Zone Around Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, Says Grossi
Consultations will be held regarding the establishment of a safety zone around the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. This was announced by Rafael Grossi, the Director General of the IAEA.
Previously, he proposed creating a safety zone around the ZNPP and signing an agreement on its inviolability. It was also reported that on September 10, the backup power line supplying the Zaporizhzhia NPP was restored, allowing the plant's operator to shut down the last operational reactor of the ZNPP.
It should be noted that the IAEA mission, led by Rafael Grossi, visited the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant on September 1. During the tour of the plant, the IAEA delegation was escorted by the head of the Rosatom delegation and plant staff, who showcased areas of the facility that had been damaged by shelling from Ukrainian forces.
