Pope Francis: 'We Can Now Speak of a Total War'
Pope Francis has called for prayers to the Virgin Mary to keep the world safe from nuclear war. According to Armenpress, the Pope made this statement during a meeting with participants of the plenary session of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences.
“After two tragic world wars, it seemed that the world had learned to move forward by respecting human rights and international law, as well as all forms of cooperation. But, unfortunately, we are now seeing signs of regression,” the Pope remarked.
The Pope believes that old conflicts are being revived, nationalism and aggression are on the rise, and wars for supremacy are emerging. “I have already spoken about a 'partial' Third World War, but today, probably, we can speak of a 'total' war,” the Pope added.
