‘They called me up for the three-month gatherings knowing in advance about my heart arrhythmia’ - Dokhoyan

Vahé Dokhoyan, the head of the ‘Fatherland’ faction in the Vanadzor City Council, was called up for three-month gatherings knowing that he had heart arrhythmia. He shared this in an interview with News.am.

According to him, the military commissariat had previously sent him for examination, where tests revealed he had health issues.

“I don’t know on what principle they took me to the three-month gathering. There, at a high-altitude location, my health deteriorated due to physical exertion, fluctuations in pressure, and other factors. I was transferred to the Vardenis hospital, and after that to the cardiology department in Yerevan. After receiving treatment in the Yerevan cardiology department for 12 days, I was sent for further examination, which revealed that I needed to undergo stenting. One of the vital arteries of my heart was over 75% blocked,” he stated.

Dokhoyan mentioned that only after the surgery did the military commissariat decide that he was unfit for service.

It is noteworthy that Vahé Dokhoyan from the Vanadzor City Council’s ‘Fatherland’ faction had left for the three-month gatherings on August 1. A few days later, his condition sharply deteriorated, and he was transferred from the unit to the hospital due to a heart attack.
