The Soldier Standing Alone Against Azerbaijanis is 95% Taron: Siranush Sahakyan
For the past two days, a video has been circulating online showing how a lone Armenian man with a submachine gun and grenade stops an Azerbaijani convoy on the Kubatlu (Vorotan) road. In an interview with Oragir.news, Siranush Sahakyan, a lawyer representing the interests of Armenian prisoners of war in Azerbaijan, stated that by correlating the available evidence, images, and previous photographs of the young man, as well as information provided by a comrade, it can be concluded with 95% certainty that the individual is Taron Harutyunyan Andreasian.
Sahakyan also noted that the edited photographs being circulated are not accurately processed and actually depict a completely different face. “He is considered missing, and we do not exclude the possibility of his capture, as we have information from his comrade that they were together,” she mentioned. Sahakyan indicated that more precise information could be provided later. “We are currently trying to obtain expert confirmation that Taron Andreasian is indeed in the footage.”
The published video mentions that there was a high-ranking officer with the Azerbaijanis who proposed surrendering, promising that he would not kill, but the Armenian warrior refused, threatening to kill Azerbaijanis and opened fire. The Azerbaijanis stated that they were forced to eliminate him.
