Military Prosecutor Prepares Resignation Application: Who Will Replace Him? - 'Zhoghovurd'
According to information from the 'Zhoghovurd' newspaper, the Military Prosecutor of Armenia is currently preparing his resignation application. Moreover, our sources indicate that the political authorities already have a candidate for this position, who will be discussed in the near future. This candidate is Haik Grigoryan, the former head of the Investigative Committee of Armenia. It is noteworthy that the Military Prosecutor's Office is not an unfamiliar institution for Grigoryan, as he has previously worked in military investigations and held various positions there.
Recall that on July 5, 'Zhoghovurd' newspaper reported that the General Prosecutor's Office of Armenia has not been calm lately. Despite Anna Vardapetyan assuming the position of General Prosecutor starting September 15, some officials in the prosecutor's office have already expressed their intention to leave before her arrival.
Specifically, according to the information we have received, before Anna Vardapetyan's arrival, applications for resignation will be submitted by the deputy general prosecutors, including Haik Aslanyan, a third-class state advisor of justice, and Vahé Harutyunyan, the Military Prosecutor of Armenia. In other words, they will not wait for their dismissal, but will take the initiative and submit their resignation applications themselves.
The situation regarding Deputy Prosecutor Armen Afandyan is somewhat different; there is confidence in the prosecutor's office that Anna Vardapetyan will not work with him, thus he too will be dismissed, one way or another. The only deputy who will not leave the prosecutor's office is Gevorg Baghdasaryan. The fact is that although he is a friend of Prosecutor Davtyan, he is also one of the prosecuting prosecutors in the March 1 case and has served the political authorities.
