One Dead Following Explosion at Ijevan Gas Station
One person has died after an explosion at a gas station in Ijevan, where four citizens were hospitalized. This information was reported by the Investigative Committee.
The Tavush regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia has initiated a criminal case under Article 356, Part 2 of the Criminal Code, and is taking necessary measures to clarify the circumstances of the explosion that occurred at the gas station on Yerevan Street in Ijevan a few days ago.
The report regarding the incident was received by the Ijevan division of the Armenian police on September 3, 2022, at 3:55 PM. According to preliminary information, the explosion at the gas station was caused by a gas leak from a gas cylinder, resulting in four citizens being transported to a medical center with varying degrees of burns. One of them has died from the injuries sustained.
A wide range of investigative and procedural actions has been carried out within the framework of the criminal case, including an on-site examination, and forensic medical, explosion, fire-technical, construction-technical, and commodity-expert examinations have been commissioned. The individuals involved have been recognized as victims.
Extensive instructions have been given to the investigative body for conducting operational and investigative measures. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
