The nuclear arsenal is the best guarantee for the preservation of a powerful Russia, stated Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation. This information was reported by RT.

He expressed his opinion on the destruction of the institutions of any state in general, as well as on the situation created in the Soviet Union, writing on his Telegram channel. His remarks were made against the backdrop of the funeral of former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev.

In Medvedev's view, the consequences of the 'disintegration' of the nuclear arsenal could be swift and catastrophic for the entire world. 'The entire strategic nuclear arsenal remained in our country at that time. And this is supported by us at a very high level. And this is the best guarantee for the preservation of a powerful Russia,' he emphasized.
