VIDEO: Earthquake Interrupts Parliament Meeting on Seismic Safety in Liechtenstein
The earthquake has interrupted a meeting of the Landtag (Parliament) of Liechtenstein concerning seismic protection. The tremors occurred while parliamentarians were discussing the consequences of this natural phenomenon and how to defend against its destruction.
The first magnitude earthquake took place during a speech by Progressive Citizens' Party MP Bettina Petzold-Mayer. She laughed at the tremors and continued her report until the second earthquake hit. At that moment, Parliament President Albert Frick interrupted the meeting, reports Associated Press.
According to the German Research Centre for Geosciences, the earthquake's magnitude was measured at 4. Meanwhile, Liechtenstein police reported that the underground tremors had a magnitude of 3.9. There have been no reports of casualties or damage.
