Attention: This Individual Poses a Danger; Witnesses Should Call the Police

The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia is searching for 46-year-old Zorik Melkonyan, a resident of the village of Arzakan in the Kotayk Province, in connection with the investigation of cases of two murders, two attempted murders, and hooliganism.

As previously reported, on August 27, 2022, around 03:30, the 46-year-old man entered a neighbor’s bedroom through an open window, assaulted him, inflicted multiple stab wounds to various parts of his body, and caused injuries to his wife’s forearm. During the necessary measures carried out within the framework of the criminal proceedings, the body of the man’s wife was also discovered in his bedroom, partially cut around the neck.

Days after the aforementioned crimes, on August 30, 2022, around 08:30, Zorik Melkonyan attacked two employees of a company located on 8th street in the village of Balakhovit using a knife he had with him, resulting in one of them dying and the other being hospitalized with a wound diagnosed as "stab wound to the left flank" at the Abovyan Medical Center.

Additionally, on August 30, 2022, between 04:00 and 04:30, Zorik Melkonyan demanded money and food at a gas station located on Yerevan Street in Abovyan, brandishing a knife in his hand.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated regarding these events, which have been combined into a single case currently being investigated by the Charentsavan Investigative Division of the Kotayk Provincial Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia. Urgent measures are being taken to locate the 46-year-old man.

The investigating body warns that this individual poses a danger to the public and urges vigilance. Simultaneously, they ask anyone who knows the suspect's whereabouts to call the Charentsavan Investigative Division at 099 000111 or the Police at 102.
