"I am convinced that this will not succeed, as no one has been able to do this before" - Lavrov
The goals of Western countries to weaken Russia and prevent it from emerging as an independent force in the international arena will not be achieved. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, according to information from RIA Novosti.
“What is happening now does not concern the interests of the Ukrainian people; it prevents, as they think, Russia from remaining an independent force in the international arena. Our state's history has seen more serious phases. The desire to weaken Russia has been awakened by our standing, our place in the international arena with respect to our other 'partners,' as we ironically call them. I am convinced that this will not succeed, as no one has been able to do this before,” Lavrov said.
According to Lavrov, Western countries claim that “the world order should be based on our rules.”
