Attention: The Mentioned Individual Poses a Threat to Society

The Investigation Committee of the Republic of Armenia is searching for 46-year-old Zorik Melkonyan, a resident of Arzakan village in the Kotayk region, in connection with the investigation of two homicides, two attempted homicides, and acts of hooliganism.

As previously reported, on August 27, 2022, around 03:30, the 46-year-old man entered a neighbor's bedroom through an open window, assaulted him, and inflicted multiple stab wounds to various parts of his body, as well as to his wife's forearm, causing bodily harm.

As a result of necessary measures taken within the framework of the criminal proceeding, the body of Zorik Melkonyan's wife was found in his bedroom, on the bed, with part of her neck cut.

Days after these crimes, on August 30, 2022, around 08:30, Zorik Melkonyan attacked two employees of a company located on 8th street in Balakhovit village with a knife, resulting in one employee's death, while the other was diagnosed with a 'lacerated and punctured wound to the left flank' and was transported to the Abovyan Medical Center.

Additionally, on August 30, 2022, between 04:00 and 04:30, Zorik Melkonyan, while at a gas station on Yerevan street in Abovyan city, brandished a knife and demanded money and food.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated regarding these events, which have been combined into a single case, the preliminary investigation of which is being conducted by the Investigation Committee of the Republic of Armenia's Kotayk regional investigation department in Charentsavan.

Urgent measures are being taken to locate the 46-year-old man. The investigating authority warns that the mentioned individual poses a threat to society and calls on the public to be vigilant. At the same time, those who know his whereabouts are requested to call the Charentsavan Investigation Department at 099 000111 or the police at 102.
