The Court of First Instance of Yerevan has accepted for consideration the latest lawsuit submitted by the Property Recovery Division of the Republic of Armenia's Prosecutor General's Office on July 27, 2022, regarding the confiscation of property with illegal origin.

The lawsuit demands the court to confiscate, on behalf of the Republic of Armenia, the following from former Syunik Province Governor Surik Khachatryan and five individuals connected to him: specifically, five immovable properties including a private house (at two addresses) in Yerevan, an apartment, a public use facility, and a construction site in Goris; three vehicles; and, in case of impossibility, their average market values, which total more than 1,530,135,900 AMD. Additionally, the demand includes shares in three legal entities, 614,544,139 AMD as a remaining balance of illegal financial means, and 2,410,463,523 AMD that is not substantiated by the individual's legal income and has illegal origins, which could not be confiscated based on Article 20, Part 4 of the law on confiscation of property with illegal origin.

Furthermore, the demand includes the right to claim a total of 4,450,350,364 AMD in loans and other receivables granted to physical and legal entities and an investment amount of 10,098,300,000 AMD transferred to an offshore company.
