Turkey Unveils New Jet-Powered Bayraktar Drone
The Turkish company Baykar, known for manufacturing combat drones, has unveiled the prototype of the Bayraktar Kızılelma strike drone at the TEKNOFEST KARADENİZ exhibition in Samsun, according to the Anadolu Agency.
For the first time, the Bayraktar Kızılelma unmanned combat aircraft, developed by Bayrak Makina, was showcased in Samsun, located in northern Turkey, on August 30.
According to Technical Director Selçuk Bayraktar, the new drone is equipped with a jet engine and modern control sensors. It possesses the capability of "aggressive maneuvering" and is also enhanced with artificial intelligence.
The combat vehicle was presented at the TEKNOFEST KARADENİZ aerospace festival along the Black Sea coast of Turkey. The drone is also expected to be produced at a factory that Baykar Makina plans to build in Ukraine. The first flight of Kızılelma is scheduled for 2023.
