VIDEO: Pensions and Benefits Set to Increase from September 1

The government today, on August 24, made a decision to raise pensions and benefits starting September 1, 2022. The issue of increasing pensions and benefits was included in the government’s meeting today, which received a positive conclusion from the executive.

Specifically, the government proposes to set the following amounts for pension calculations:

• For the calculation of the working pension: the base pension amount will be 21,000 AMD (up from 18,000 AMD).
• For the calculation of the military pension: the base pension amount will be 20,000 AMD (up from 18,000 AMD).
• The minimum pension amount will be 30,500 AMD (up from 28,600 AMD).
• For military personnel with disabilities from compulsory military service, the military pension amounts will be as follows:
• For the first group of disabled individuals: 45,000 AMD (up from 43,000 AMD).
• For the second group of disabled individuals: 35,000 AMD (up from 33,000 AMD).
• For the third group of disabled individuals: 32,000 AMD (up from 30,000 AMD).
• In the case of the death (fatality) of a serviceman from compulsory military service, the military pension amount for the family member who lost the breadwinner will be 32,000 AMD (up from 30,000 AMD).

As a result, it is expected that the average monthly amount of working pensions will increase by about 3,100 AMD or 7.1%, while military pensions will increase by 5,200 AMD or 6.8%.

It is also proposed to increase the amounts for old-age, disability, and loss of breadwinner benefits, setting them at 30,500 AMD (up from 28,600 AMD), and for recognized disabled children, the amount will be 39,000 AMD (up from 37,000 AMD).
