The Young Man Who Struck Manana Aslamazyan in a Tesla Was Driving Without a License
A 25-year-old man, who fatally struck former head of Internews Manana Aslamazyan in Yerevan’s Tumanyan Street while driving a Tesla, was driving without the appropriate driver’s license. This information was reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
It was reported that on August 30, around 5:30 PM, an accident occurred on Tumanyan Street. The driver of the Tesla transported the victim to the hospital; however, Manana Aslamazyan could not be saved.
“A criminal case has been initiated under part 4 of Article 342 of the RA Criminal Code in the Investigation Department of Transport Crimes of Yerevan City to clarify the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident on Tumanyan Street,” the statement from the Investigative Committee reads.
It should be noted that the crime specified in part 4 of Article 342 involves violating the requirements for ensuring road safety or the rules ensuring the safe operation of traffic or vehicles, committed by a person who is intoxicated (not sober) or lacks the right to drive the relevant vehicle.
The driver of the Tesla has been arrested. An investigation is underway.
