Don't Try to Raise Customs Prices Tomorrow: Protest by Car Importers in Front of the State Revenue Committee

As of September 1, car importers claim that customs clearance prices will increase. They are holding a protest in front of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) demanding a meeting with any responsible official from the SRC.

"Starting tomorrow, customs clearance prices are going up; our demand is that everything remains the same, and nothing changes. They disregard so many people. It's as if they sit comfortably in their offices and don't bother to come down to listen to us. They should say, 'We will get familiar with the procedure and tell you what to do,'" the car importers complained.

One of the SRC employees approached the protesters and urged them to go inside and write an application. "I will come, but I will just write two sentences: Don't try to raise prices tomorrow, return the customs prices to what they were, and don't ask for anything more," said Tigran Hovhannisyan, the president of the League of Drivers' Protection. He noted that their future actions depend on the developments starting tomorrow.
