VIDEO: The Mountain 'Ghost' of Almaty

In the mountains of Almaty, a mountain 'ghost' has been successfully photographed. There is no mysticism here; this is a natural phenomenon where the shadow of the observer is cast on the surface of the clouds (or fog) in the opposite direction of the sun. Sometimes the shadow is surrounded by colored rings (rainbows).

The ghost can also appear to move due to the shifts in the cloud layer and variations in the density of the cloud.
