VIDEO: Tensions Rise in Vedi as Turks Hold Revelry

Several Facebook users from Vedi have shared videos raising alarm about an incident that occurred today between Turkish citizens and residents of Vedi.

"Today, an incident happened in Vedi involving Turks. One of our friends sent me a picture of a Turkish car, saying that the Turks organized a revelry at the Vedi railway station, drinking cognac and insulting Armenians... there was a clash with the residents of Vedi, as far as I understood. The police are on site," wrote one user.

"The situation in Vedi is tense; the Turks have organized a celebration in the area of the Vedi railway station, drinking cognac and insulting Armenians. The 'Future' is now in Vedi," wrote Hripsime Arshakyan.

A resident of Vedi told 168.am in a recent conversation that a group of men attempted to remove the drunken Turkish citizens who were holding the celebration, but the police escorted some of them to the station.
