Explosion Heard in Gyumri, According to Ministry of Emergency Situations

An explosion and fire occurred in the territory of an unused textile factory in Gyumri, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reports.

On August 30, at 11:57 AM, the Shirak regional crisis management center received a report that an explosion was heard at the intersection of Khrimyan Hayrik and Garegin Nzhdeh Streets in Gyumri, according to the statement.

Two fire-fighting units from the regional emergency rescue department were dispatched to the scene.

According to preliminary data, a fire broke out in the territory of the unused textile factory, affecting grassy and littered areas. The fire was contained by 12:38 PM.
