Charles Michel Holds Phone Conversations with Pashinyan and Aliyev: What Was Discussed

On August 31, ahead of the scheduled fourth meeting between Pashinyan and Aliyev in Brussels, European Union President Charles Michel had phone conversations with both parties. The information was shared by the EU President on Twitter, stating: “Preparatory calls ahead of the fourth meeting with Nikol Pashinyan and Ilham Aliyev taking place tomorrow in Brussels.”

It is worth noting that prior to this, on August 31, Hikmet Hajiyev, an assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, mentioned that discussions would focus on establishing a group to prepare the text of the peace agreement. “However, from this process, we are seeing reluctance on the part of Armenia,” he said.

Additionally, today, August 30, a meeting of the delimitation and border security commissions between Armenia and Azerbaijan will take place in Moscow.
