Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant Continues to Supply Electricity to Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant continues to supply electricity to Ukraine, reported Vladimir Rogov, a member of the regional administration in Zaporizhzhia to RIA Novosti. Earlier, the Ukrainian side had interrupted the last of the four power lines from the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant to Ukraine, stating that there was no physical possibility to supply electricity from there.

“Today, electricity is going to both liberated territories and the right bank of the Dnipro, which is still under the control of Zelensky's regime,” Rogov said.

The power plant is located on the left bank of the Dnipro, near Enerhodar. It is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe by the number of reactors and installed capacity. Since March, it has been under the protection of Russian military forces. The Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized the justification for the protection of the power plant by the Russian military in terms of preventing leaks of nuclear and radioactive materials.

Ukrainian military forces continue to periodically shell Enerhodar, surrounding villages, and the area adjacent to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.
