Lavrov: The US, UK, and Europe Are Shamelessly Resorting to Blackmail

Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has announced the West's attempts to influence the positions of other countries towards Russia and alter their attitudes towards Moscow. He spoke about this in an interview with the Zvezda TV channel. Lenta.ru reports.

According to Lavrov, the US, UK, and Europe are shamelessly resorting to blackmail, forcing countries to change their opinions about Russia.

“This must change, as the overwhelming majority of those states either find justified our attitude towards the long-term neglect of Russia's legitimate security interests by the West, or they want to maintain a neutral stance,” Lavrov clarified.

The Foreign Minister also noted that Western countries compel other states to follow an anti-Russian course by restricting exports, imports, and halting transport links. He stated that some countries are forced to make certain concessions, but in practice, “none of them join the sanctions.” At the same time, pressure on these states continues.

In this interview, Lavrov also mentioned that the advent of a multipolar world is inevitable, despite the obstacles created by the West. Specifically, the US and the UK, according to him, are trying to go against objective historical processes. The Minister emphasized that this may slow down the formation of multipolarity but will not stop it.
