Video: Armed Clashes in Libyan Capital, Casualties Reported
Armed clashes have taken place in Tripoli, Libya, between armed groups. At least two people have been reported dead, according to Al-Arabiya television.
Reports from social media indicate that gunfire is continuing even now. Information is circulating that one of the shells has fallen on a hospital. Hospital staff have been forced to extinguish a fire caused by the strike.
This week, Libya's Prime Minister Fathi Bashagha, elected by Parliament, sent a letter to the head of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, once again demanding the resignation of his powers to prevent bloodshed in the country.
In turn, Dbeibah advised Bashagha, who aspires to lead Tripoli, to focus his efforts on participating in the elections.
