Another 5 Bodies Recovered, Death Toll Reaches 15

As of 7:00 AM, rescuers have recovered five more bodies, bringing the total number of deceased citizens to 15, reported Hayk Kostanyan, spokesperson for the Ministry of Emergency Situations. 

The search and rescue operations continue. The ministry's website indicates that the remains of 15 citizens have been found (including Misak Petvakan's Margaryan, born in 1964; Anahit Vazgen's Mkrtchyan, born in 1967; Gemma Sargsyan's Nazaryan, born in 1960; Anahit Zarsandi's Khalatyan; Vardan Gurgens' Kocharyan, born in 1960; and Gayane Artavazd's Avetisyan, born in 1966, along with the remains of nine unidentified individuals). 

The Ministry of Emergency Situations also mentioned in its report that among the recovered bodies was that of a child; however, this portion of the announcement was later edited, and the reference to the child's body was removed.

Sixty citizens have sought treatment at Yerevan hospitals, with 12 continuing to receive care, while the remaining 48 have been discharged after receiving appropriate medical assistance. 

As a result of calls received on the “911” hotline, the following individuals may be considered missing from the area of the “Surmalu” shopping center:

3. Sirarpi Khachatryan
4. Mariam Khachatryan
5. Harut Garakyan
6. Gagik Karapetyan
7. Artavazd Hayrapetyan
8. Erna Grigoryan (born in 1980)
9. Hrachya Sargsyan (born in 1976)
10. Vachagan Yeghoyan (born in 2000)
11. Vanik Amirkhanyan
12. Ksenia Badalyan (born in 1981)
13. Aram Harutyunyan
14. David Mkrtchyan
15. Meline Taloyan (born in 1997)
16. Lyuba Gribova (a citizen of the Russian Federation, born in 1959)
17. Mehri Taheri (a citizen of Iran)
18. Gegham Petrosyan (born in 1985)

We would like to remind that on August 14 at 13:23, the National Center for Crisis Management received a report of an explosion with a fire outbreak at the “Surmalu” shopping center located at 15 Arshakunyats Street in Yerevan, which resulted in a partial collapse of the three-story building.
