Video: Woman Abducted and Ransom Demanded from Husband

On August 24, just after midnight, a man called the police to report that his wife had been abducted from the Nor Hajn city hall, and that the abductors were demanding a meeting and 200,000 drams.

Officers from the Nairi police department took immediate action to uncover the crime with fresh evidence. It soon became apparent that the woman had been kidnapped hours earlier by three residents of Yerevan—two men and one woman. It was also revealed that the abductors were holding the woman in a vehicle on Tbilisi Highway in Yerevan, while simultaneously conversing with her husband and mentioning the conditions for her release.

Hours after the abduction, police located and arrested the suspects on Aharonian Street in Yerevan. According to initial reports, there was a debt dispute between the abducted woman’s husband and the kidnappers.

A criminal investigation has been initiated, and a preliminary investigation is underway.
