Major Car Accident in Lori Province: One Victim is a Minor

On August 25 at 19:33, the Lori regional crisis management center received a call reporting a traffic accident at the beginning of the Yeghegnut-Vanadzor highway, with casualties requiring rescue services.

A firefighting and rescue team from the Ministry of Emergency Situations’ regional rescue department was dispatched to the scene. It was found that a truck of "MAN" brand (driver: D. O., born in 1964) and a car of "Mercedes" brand (driver: A. M., born in 2002) collided at the 24th km of the M-6 interstate highway, Vanadzor-Alaverdi section.

Before the rescue team arrived, the driver of the "Mercedes" and passenger N. M. (born in 2004) were extracted from the vehicle by local forces and taken to the Vanadzor Hospital, where doctors pronounced N. M. dead, and assessed the driver's condition as extremely critical; he also passed away shortly after.

The rescuers de-energized the "Mercedes" vehicle, closed the gas cylinder valve, and retrieved the body of passenger M. P. (born in 2007) from the car, bringing it closer to the ambulance.
