17 and 15-Year-Old Passengers, Later 20-Year-Old Driver Dies: Investigative Committee Provides Details
The Investigative Committee of Armenia's Lori region is taking necessary measures to clarify all circumstances surrounding the traffic accident that resulted in the deaths of three individuals.
On August 25, 2022, around 7:20 PM, vehicles driven by a resident of the Republic of Georgia, operating a "MAN," and a 20-year-old resident of Tsaghkadzor, Kotayk Province, driving a "Mercedes-Benz," collided on the 22nd kilometer of the Vanadzor-Alaverdi highway. As a result, the 17 and 15-year-old passengers, along with the driver, were transferred to the Vanadzor Medical Center with various degrees of bodily injuries.
Unfortunately, the passengers did not regain consciousness and died shortly after arrival at the medical center, while the driver of the "Mercedes-Benz" passed away a few hours later at the hospital.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated under Article 342, Part 3 of the RA Criminal Code regarding this incident. During the preliminary investigation, necessary urgent actions were carried out, including inspections of the vehicles involved, appointments for requisite expert examinations, and the collection of clothing worn by the victims and the driver of the "MAN" at the time of the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
