Burned Body Had Bodily Injuries: Investigative Committee on Brutal Murder of 23-Year-Old in Tavush

The Investigative Committee of Armenia is conducting investigative and procedural actions to clarify the circumstances of the murder of a 23-year-old young man, under the framework of a criminal case initiated pursuant to Article 155, Part 2, Clause 6 of the Criminal Code.

According to a report by the Committee, the notification regarding the incident was received from the relevant division of the Armenian police on August 22, 2022, at 11:35 AM, indicating that the burned body of a 23-year-old was discovered at the beginning of the Vazashen settlement.

During the preliminary investigation, a site inspection revealed the aforementioned young man’s body, which was found in a charred state, exhibiting three injuries on the front surface of the chest and seven on the rear surface, as well as injuries in other parts of the body. Samples were taken, and forensic medical, bio-legal, genetic, and fire-technical examinations were appointed.

Instructions have been issued to the investigating authority, and a preliminary investigation is underway.
