Evacuation at a Building in Yerevan: Hand-Made Landmine Found in Basement

A hand-made landmine has been discovered in the basement of the first entrance of building 8 on Shoproni Street in the Nor Nork administrative district of Yerevan. This information was reported by shamshyan.com.

The alert regarding the explosive was received by the police and the Ministry of Emergency Situations around 10:00 AM on August 22.

“Residents have been evacuated from the area, and a team of emergency doctors has also arrived. Engineers and rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations’ fire and rescue unit have found the hand-made landmine in the basement, and there are suspicions that it is an operational device,” the report states.

It has been noted that an investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.
