22-Year-Old Takes Money from Parents' Bedroom, Then Reports to Police
On the afternoon of August 17, a 22-year-old resident of Artashat village reported a burglary to the police department in Metsamor. The police of the Republic of Armenia informed about this incident.
He stated that during the time he was sleeping alone at home, between 7 AM and 11 AM, someone entered the house and stole 700,000 AMD from under his parents' mattress. The operational group that arrived at the scene also clarified that there was another 80,000 AMD left under the mattress.
The circumstances were highly suspicious, and the police proposed a hypothesis that no one had entered the house while the young man was asleep. With the measures taken alongside their colleagues from the Armavir Regional Department, the investigative unit, and criminal detectives in Metsamor, discovered that the informant himself had taken the money from his parents' bedroom, taking advantage of their absence.
About three hours after the report, the young man appeared at the Armavir investigative department, where he confessed to the act. Thanks to prompt actions, the stolen money was also discovered, hidden in the yard inside a pantry.
