As of August 19, at 08:10, search and rescue operations are ongoing. At the scene, there are 30 rescuers working (including 4 from the Ministry of Emergency Situations' Rescue Service in Yerevan, 15 from the special rescue operations center of the Rescue Forces Administration, 4 rescuers from the Firefighting and Rescue Organization Department, and a standby group from the Medical Support Department), as well as 14 volunteers from the "Red Cross" humanitarian organization.
The search and rescue operations are being conducted in one area. Equipment involved in the operations includes one tractor from the municipality, one excavator, three dump trucks, and one crane.
As a result of the search and rescue efforts, the bodies of 16 individuals have been found (including Misak Patvakan’s Margaryan, born in 1965; Anahit Vazgen's Mkrtaryan, born in 1967; Jemma Sargsi's Nazaryan, born in 1960; Anahit Zarsandi’s Khalatian, born in 1970; Vardan Gurgen's Kocharyan, born in 1960; Gayane Artavazd's Avetisyan, born in 1966; Aram Komisari's Hayrapetyan, born in 1980; Vachagan Vahagni's Yeghoyan, born in 2000; Ernā Manveli's Grigoryan, born in 1980; Harutyun Samveli's Garakyan, born in 1988; Mariam Armeni's Khachatryan, born in 1992; Sirarpi Armeni's Khachatryan, born in 1994; Marat Karen's Shahbazyan, born in 2018; Hrachya Faenbergi's Sargsyan, born in 1976; Artavazd Hambardzumi's Hayrapetyan, born in 1951; and one unidentified body).
A total of 62 citizens have sought treatment in hospitals in Yerevan, of which 4 continue to receive care while the rest have been discharged after receiving appropriate medical assistance.
From August 14 to 18, a total of 1,061 rescuers from the territorial and structural subdivisions of the Rescue Service participated in firefighting and search operations at the "Surmalu" shopping center on a shift basis. Rescuers managed to pull 10 injured individuals from the rubble.
