As known, on August 18, a brutal and tragic incident occurred in the Kotayk region. Around 07:40, the Nairi division of the police received a call reporting a woman's body in one of the houses in the village of Nor Geghi.

Police and investigators discovered the body of 71-year-old Svetlana Avagyan at the specified location. According to the preliminary conclusion of the forensic expert, there were several signs of stab wounds from a sharp object on the body. While investigators were working at the scene, another call was received by the Nairi division of the police reporting a man's body found under the Nor Hachn bridge. It later became clear that the man had killed his wife and then jumped off the bridge.

But why would a 71-year-old man kill his wife and then take his own life? According to the information we received, the man was highly jealous of his wife. Close acquaintances have told law enforcement that he had always been jealous, and in recent times, the manifestations of jealousy had increased, leading to various conflicts.
