Until When Will High Temperatures Persist? Weather Forecast

The weather in the Republic of Armenia from August 18-22 is expected to be dry, with no precipitation. This information was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia, which added that the territory of the republic continues to be under the influence of tropical warm air flows from Iraq. As a result, the air temperature during the daytime in the Ararat Valley, the foothill areas of Aragatsotn and Vayots Dzor, in the valleys of Syunik, and in Yerevan will reach +39 to +41 degrees Celsius.

“Due to the high thermal background and absence of rainfall, a high fire danger situation is expected in the foothill and valley regions of the republic during these days,” the Ministry's statement said.

Hydrometeorologists warn that the intensity of ultraviolet radiation in the republic is expected to be above normal until August 19. It is recommended to avoid direct sunlight from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The wind in the coming days will be from the southwest at 2-5 m/s. In the foothills of Aragatsotn and Kotayk, as well as in Ararat, wind intensification is expected in the evening hours, reaching speeds of 14-17 m/s.

The air temperature is not expected to change significantly until August 19, but is projected to gradually decrease by 2-3 degrees on August 20-21.

In Yerevan, from August 18-22, dry weather is also expected, with wind intensification in the evening hours, reaching speeds of 13-15 m/s.
