Fire and Smoke Visible from 1 Kilometer from Liquid Gas Transport Vehicle, Traffic Closed

A recent emergency incident occurred in the Vayots Dzor region. At approximately 15:30, the Ministry of Emergency Situations received a call to its 911 crisis management center reporting that a vehicle transporting liquid gas was on fire at kilometer 133 of the Yerevan-Yeraskh-Megri highway.

According to photographer Gagik Shamshyan, firefighters are trying to extinguish the flames from a distance. An explosion could occur at any moment.

Preliminary reports indicate that the driver has been transported to the Yeghegnadzor Medical Center with burns. Investigators from the Vayots Dzor Regional Investigative Department of the Armenian Investigative Committee have also arrived at the scene and are waiting for the firefighters to extinguish the fire so that they can carry out their operations.
