One Dead and 20 Injured in Surmalu Shopping Center Explosion
The Ministry of Emergency Situations has reported new information regarding the explosion at the Surmalu shopping center and the resulting casualties. On August 14, at 13:23, the Crisis Management National Center received a call reporting an explosion at the Surmalu shopping center.
In response to the fire, six firefighting units along with a fire ladder and operational teams from the Crisis Management National Center were dispatched to the scene. Special units for rescue operations and teams from the Psychological Support Division were also sent.
According to preliminary data, an explosion occurred, leading to a fire outbreak. Initial reports indicate that there is one fatality and twenty injured individuals. A level 3 fire status has been declared, and an additional four firefighting units have also been sent to the scene.
Moreover, ten more fire units from both the urban and regional emergency rescue departments have been deployed to assist at the incident site. As noted in the report, there has been one casualty and twenty injured individuals due to the explosion and fire.
