VIDEO: Son Tried to Deceive Authorities by Claiming His Mother Committed Suicide, Police Say

On August 12, around 21:00, a citizen who called the 911 service reported that his mother had committed suicide in an apartment on Komitas Avenue. Police officers and investigators who arrived at the scene discovered the body of 55-year-old Rouzanna Vardanian, who lived there as a tenant. The woman's body showed scratches, and there was a rope around her neck.

As a result of extensive measures and investigative actions undertaken by the police department of Yerevan and the Arabkir division, it was revealed that the woman had been murdered by her 17-year-old son. He has been arrested and presented to the investigative unit. Expert examinations have been appointed, and a criminal case has been initiated. All circumstances of the incident are being clarified.
