Czech Republic to Discuss Visa Ban for Russian Citizens
The Czech Republic, currently holding the presidency of the EU, is preparing to raise the issue of a visa ban for Russian citizens, according to Politico.
“We are trying to explain to our partners that such an approach is justified and effective,” the foreign minister stated, adding that this step would send “a very clear and direct signal to Russian society” that “such aggressive politics have consequences.”
Furthermore, he expressed the opinion that prohibiting visa issuance to Russians would “reduce the influence of Russian intelligence services in the EU.”
