New Details on Major Accident Involving Russians in Stepanakert

On August 12, 2022, at approximately 08:45, a significant accident occurred on Melikavan Street in Stepanakert, involving a HAVAL H9 vehicle driven by Russian citizen I.F., born in 1992, and a VAZ 2107 vehicle driven by E.G., born in 1996, from the Sarushen community in the Askeran region of Artsakh. As a result of the collision, passengers in E.G.'s vehicle—H.G., born in 1971, N.D., born in 1970, L.M., born in 1972, and S.N., born in 1966—lost their lives, while the driver E.G. sustained bodily injuries. A criminal case has been initiated under part 3 of Article 253 of the Artsakh Criminal Code.

Investigators from the Stepanakert Investigative Department of the Artsakh Republic's Investigative Committee have been dispatched to the scene. Urgent investigative and procedural actions are being taken to clarify all circumstances of the incident. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
